Previews are Saturday, January 3 at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, January 4 at 2p.m., Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 11 at 2 p.m. Press Opening night is Tuesday, January 13 at 7 p.m.

Evanston's Next Theatre Company Faces Eviction

Due to its failure to keep up with rent payments for the past two years, Evanston's Next Theatre will be forced to relinquish its space in the Noyes Cultural Arts Center. Since the theatre is indebted for over $76,000, city officials will be holding a meeting today to 'authorize enforcement' of the collection of the deficit. The council will also discuss plans to decline renewal of the theatre lease when expires in May 2015.

Today, Artistic Director Robert Falls announces that his longtime associate, Producer Steve Scott, will direct Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning, 'deliriously funny, hilariously demented' Broadway hit, in Spring 2015 (dates TBA). A loving send-up of Chekhov's greatest works, Vanya makes its Chicago premiere in the Albert Theatre as part of the Subscription series in the theater's 90th Anniversary 'Season to Celebrate.' Next Theatre Company announces the Midwest premiere of The Great God Pan, April 3 - May 11, by Amy Herzog and directed by Next Artistic Associate Kimberly Senior, at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street. Previews are Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 4 at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. Opening Night is Monday, April 7 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There are Saturday 4 p.m. performances April 19, 26, May 3 and May 10th. One year after relocating the company from Oxnard's Heritage Square to Channel Islands Harbor (at 2731 S. Victoria Ave. Oxnard, CA 93035), the Elite Theatre Company is opening its 21st season by presenting a remarkably real look at the lives of four mentally handicapped men and the kind but increasingly burned out social worker who struggles to keep it all together. On Friday, February 28th, the Elite opens its production of THE BOYS NEXT DOOR by Tom Griffin. This will be the first show in the Elite's 2014 season, entitled 'Wit.' Heart-filled and hilarious, THE BOYS NEXT DOOR runs through April 6th, Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
