Surfside Players will present the Neil Simon farce RUMORS, directed by Janet Rubin. Performances are through March 18, 2012 (3 weekends), Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm.

Musical theatre legend Lloyd Webber has two of his most popular shows returning to Broadway this spring. Webber and Tim Rice's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will open March 22, 2012 at the Neil Simon Theatre. EVITA will open April 5, 2012 at the Marquis Theatre. Both shows are currently in previews. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies will talk about writing for the theatre, film and television at Chapman University on Saturday, March 17 at 3 p.m. The event is free to the public.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit, have announced a series of post performance discussions to follow select performances of its production of Lost in Yonkers, by Neil Simon.TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson directs.

Directed with care and attention to detail by Johnny Peppers, who is quickly becoming the go-to guy for Simon shows in Nashville (just prior to the opening of Circle's Brighton Beach Memoirs, his production of Barefoot in the Park for Franklin's Pull-Tight Players closed), the play features young Will Butler as the play's nominal lead-and stand-in for Simon himself, upon whose life the richly drawn characters and situations are derived-Eugene Morris Jerome, a 15-year-old Polish American Jewish boy living in Brooklyn with his parents, his brother, his aunt and her two daughters.

The Windham Theatre Guild continues their 2011-2012 season with Plaza Suite by Neil Simon, opening Friday, March 16th at the Burton Leavitt Theater.

Barefoot in the Park by Neil Simon will run weekends from March 16, 2012 through April 1, 2012 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. One special Thursday evening performance on March 22 at 8pm. Matinees are on Sunday, March 18, Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1 at 2pm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Fox network has shelved the comedy series I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER due to weak ratings. The network has announced that it will air an expanded version of 'American Idol' in its place on Wednesdays during the month of April.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION, the runaway hit play by Mark St. Germain now in its second successful year in New York, is coming "for a session" at the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport, Chicago), making its Midwest Premiere previewing March 21, opening March 26 at 7:30pm and running through June 3. FREUD'S LAST SESSION won the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play.
