The Recording Academy's GRAMMY Recordings® and Republic Records will release the 2019 GRAMMY® Nominees album on Jan. 25, 2019 in stores and via digital retailers.

The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing® will honor eight-time GRAMMY® Award winner Willie Nelson at its annual GRAMMY Week celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at The Village Studios in West Los Angeles. Now in its 12th year, this event will celebrate the artistic achievements and creative genius of Nelson, one of the music industry's most beloved icons. The event also acknowledges the overall industry contributions of the Producers & Engineers Wing's more than 6,400 professional members. GRAMMY Week culminates with the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards® on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, airing live on the CBS Television Network, at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT.

The Recording Academy and CBS announced today the dates for Music's Biggest Night® in 2020 and 2021. The 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards® will air on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, and the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will air on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021. As the only peer-selected music award, the GRAMMY® is voted on by the Recording Academy's membership body of music makers who represent all genres and creative disciplines, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers, and will honor recordings released within the eligibility year.

In collaboration with the Recording Academy, Great Performances presents GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends 2018®, the third annual all-star concert offering a primetime spotlight for the Recording Academy's 2018 Special Merit Awards recipients. The celebration and tribute concert feature rare performances by honorees and never-before-seen renditions of their classic songs by those they've inspired. Recorded in July at Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre, the event premieres nationwideFriday, October 5 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) and will be available to stream the following day via pbs.org/gperf and PBS apps.

The Recording Academy and its members across the country are celebrating today's passage of the Music Modernization Act by the Senate. This movement of the historic bill is a victory for all music creators, setting a clear path to the president's desk.

The GRAMMY Museum® has expanded its executive leadership team and appointed Michael Sticka as Executive Director, responsible for the organization's strategic direction and leading all aspects of operations, including curatorial, development, marketing, grants and awards, public and education programs, and more. Previously, Sticka served as Controller and Senior Director of Finance and Administration and was critical in overseeing the Museum's integration with the GRAMMY Foundation® in 2017, as well as designing and managing a strategic plan for the combined organization's future.

Eight-time GRAMMY® winner Dolly Parton will be honored at the 2019 MusiCares® Person of the Year tribute on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, it was announced today by Neil Portnow, President/CEO of MusiCares and the Recording Academy. Proceeds from the 29th annual benefit gala will provide essential support for MusiCares (www.musicares.org), a charity founded by the Recording Academy that ensures music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical, and personal need. The tribute will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center two nights prior to the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards®.

Today, the Recording Academy announced that two-time GRAMMY®-nominated saxophonist and vocalist Mindi Abair and four-time GRAMMY-nominated producer and songwriter Harvey Mason Jr. will lead the Academy's National Advocacy Committee as co-chairs. Joined by Committee members Sue Ennis, Lalah Hathaway, Booker T. Jones, and Nile Rodgers, the Committee's immediate focus is ensuring that the Senate passes the Music Modernization Act, which would be the first major reform to music copyright law in decades. The Committee is also focused on encouraging participation from the music community in the Academy's annual District Advocate day, which will take place on Oct. 24 in congressional districts across the country.

The Recording Academy today announced key dates and deadlines for the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards®. Music's Biggest Night®returns to Los Angeles' STAPLES Center on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, and will broadcast live on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Nominations for the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards will be announced in all 84 categories on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, and will honor the best in recordings released between Oct. 1, 2017 and Sept. 30, 2018.

The Recording Academy has expanded its lineup for the 'GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends®,' an awards ceremony and live tribute concert celebrating the 2018 Special Merit Awards honorees on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Added to the lineup are four-time GRAMMY® winner Yolanda Adams, who will perform and honor Tony Agnello and Richard Factor, GRAMMY winner Gustavo Dudamel who will present to John Williams; violinist Anne Akiko Meyers, who will perform in tribute to Williams; and members of The Meters, including Joseph '?Zigaboo' Modeliste, Cyril Neville, Leo Nocentelli, and George Porter Jr. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Hal Blaine, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Louis Jordan, The Meters, Queen, and Tina Turner. Additional Special Merit Awards honorees to be celebrated include Bill Graham, Seymour Stein, and Williams, who are this year's Trustees Award honorees, and Agnello and Factor, who are the Technical GRAMMY® Award recipients. Also being honored is Melissa Salguero, this year's recipient of the Music Educator Award. Tickets for the event are on sale now via Ticketmaster.

Great music comes from great harmonies. As the organization representing all creators, we are gratified to see the industry and Congress work in harmony to pass the Music Modernization Act through the Senate Judiciary Committee. Following years of advocacy by music creators, we look forward to that momentum continuing as the Music Modernization Act heads to the Senate floor. We thank the Committee for its swift movement of the bill. Through collaboration we can truly make a difference for the hundreds of thousands of working music creators across the country.

The Grammy Awards have decided to increase the number of nominees in the four top categories (Album, Song, Record of the Year, & Best New Artist) from five to eight after complaints of a lack of diversity and equality. The announcement was released through a letter to the members of the Recording Academy earlier this week. The other categories will remain at five nominees. 

The GRAMMY Museum® Grant Program announced today that $200,000 in grants will be awarded to 14 recipients in the United States and Canada to help facilitate a range of research on a variety of subjects, as well as support a number of archiving and preservation programs. Research projects include a study that will examine how rhythmic cues can improve movement for older adults and people with Parkinson's disease, and a study that will examine how neural integration through music enhances long-term memory, among others. Preservation and archiving initiatives will rescue and organize 400 hours of at-risk reel-to-reel tapes of Native Radio—Bay Area:1973–1978; preserve, digitize, and ensure public access to 316 rare interviews with performers, songwriters, and music executives from the Country Music Hall of Fame; and digitally restore rare kinescopes of the 1950s television series 'Stars Of Jazz' (KABC-TV, 1956-58); among others.
