Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts today announced the cast and creative team for Athol Fugard's A Lesson from Aloes. Ariyon Bakare, Randall Newsome and Andrus Nichols will appear in the revered Fugard drama. The play will perform Today, May 17, through Sunday, June 10 - closing out Hartford Stage's 2017-18 season. Tresnjak will direct.

From the studio that produced the hit podcast, Missing Richard Simmons, Topic Studios today announced they are partnering with the award-winning John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Shortbus, How to Talk to Girls at Parties) for a pioneering new podcast, "Anthem." This edgy anthology series will tell a unique American story though a distinct musical voice, with each season pairing an iconic songwriter with an experienced storyteller to bring audiences a fascinating tale from a neglected corner of the country. "Anthem" is currently in production and will be available to audiences later this year.

On Thursday, May 31, Writers in the Loft hosts New York Times bestselling author and comedic actor John Hodgman. The New-England-native-turned-New-Yorker and former "fake news" practitioner on The Daily Show will discuss VACATIONLAND: True Stories from Painful Beaches, his latest work about his real-life, all true wanderings through New England. Beyond mere comedy, the book is a poignant and honest account of one human facing his forties, "those years when men in particular must stop pretending to be the children of bright potential they were and settle into the failing bodies of the wiser, weird dads that they are," says Hodgman. The book and Hodgman's approach to life and comedy have been heralded by fellow authors Elizabeth Gilbert, George R. R. Sony Music Masterworks has announced the release of How To Talk To Girls At Parties (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack),the musical companion to the hugely anticipated new film from award-winning writer-director, John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), based on the short story by Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Norse Mythology). The album arrives at all music retailers and streaming services on Friday, May 11. Out today ahead of the full soundtrack release is the single track, 'Between the Breaths' from beloved indie-darlings, Mitski and Xiu Xiu. The A24 release of a See-Saw Films/Little Punk production, How to Talk to Girls at Parties opens in theaters across the U.S on May 25. StudioCanal UK releases the film across the UK on May 11.

BBC AMERICA announced today that it had renewed the critically acclaimed series Killing Eve for a second season, days before its April 8th world premiere. Produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd, the suspenseful cat-and-mouse drama stars Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy, Sideways) and Jodie Comer (The White Princess, Thirteen) and comes from Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag). Killing Eve is a dramatic thriller revolving around a psychopathic assassin and the woman charged with hunting her down. It is a combination of brutal mischief making and pathos, filled with sharp humor, originality and high stakes action.
