WORD FOR WORD, presents You Know When the Men Are Gone: two short stories 'The Last Stand' and 'Gold Star' a world premiere production of stories by Siobhan Fallon from her debut book which opens with a press night on Saturday, February 2 at 8 PM at Z SPACE, 450 Florida Street in San Francisco and runs February 2-24.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of The Revisionist, written by Jesse Eisenberg and directed by Kip Fagan. Previously announced cast members Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave will be joined by Daniel Oreskes.

Several theatrical performances will be presented in 2013 at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF). The roster includes comedy, special events for kids, and a powerful one-man performance: Guy Masterson in Shylock.

The Flea Theater presents the World Premiere of THE VANDAL by Hamish Linklater. The play will star Holly Hunter, Zach Grenier and Noah Robbins, with direction by Jim Simpson, The Flea's founder and Artistic Director. The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) recently announced details of all events to be presented from January - June, 2013. Highlights include include a sold-out evening with Dan Rather, and appearances by renowned pianist Michael Feinstein, columnist Dave Barry, Rabbi David Wolpe, author Daniel Pink, indie rockers Dean and Britta, psychologist Tal Ben-Shahar, and a brunch with Mark Russ Federman, owner of New York's fabled Russ & Daughters.

The Board of Directors of The Old Globe today announced the appointment of Barry Edelstein as Artistic Director. A nationally-recognized director, producer, author and educator, Edelstein will work together with Managing Director Michael G. Murphy to lead San Diego's flagship arts institution. Both Edelstein and Murphy will report jointly to the Board of Directors. Currently the Director of The Public Theater's Shakespeare Initiative in New York City, Edelstein will assume the artistic directorship of The Old Globe on Nov. 1 and will reside full-time in San Diego in January 2013.

Novelist Nathan Englander discusses his new play, The Twenty-Seventh Man, with the theater director Barry Edelstein, in a conversation moderated by the journalist Alexis Soloski. Set in a Russian prison in 1952, the play is adapted from one of Englander's stories in the collection For the Relief of Unbearable Urges.
