Not since Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize winning The Heidi Chronicles has a play taken on the complexities of the women's liberation movement with such intimacy and acerbic wit. Custom Made Theatre Company presents Pulitzer Prize finalist Gina Gionfriddo's Rapture, Blister, Burn, November 17 - December 17 at Custom Made's theater at 533 Sutter Street in San Francisco. Leah Abrams (Sam and Dede, or My Dinner with Andre the Giant) directs.

Seven-time Emmy Award-winning actor Ed Asner and Oscar-nominated director Mark Rydell, have been re-scheduled to guest on The Marilu Henner Show, for Thursday, Sept. 24th at 10:30 am PT, to talk about their stage performance of the comedy OXYMORONS written and directed by Brian Connors, and the screening of the short film GOOD MEN in which they also star, written and directed by Brian Connors, and produced by Neal Wilde, as a one-night benefit for The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood, CA on October 18th.

Beginning today, May 1, two walls of the Jewish Museum's lobby will be filled with over 30 new portraits by the London-based painter Chantal Joffe. This body of work explores Jewish women of the twentieth century, focusing on those who made major contributions to art, literature, philosophy, and politics - including Diane Arbus, Nancy Spero, Gertrude Stein, Alice B. Toklas, Susan Sontag, and Hannah Arendt. Portraits of these women and others will be hung salon-style across two walls of the lobby. Using Walls, Floors, and Ceilings: Chantal Joffe will be on view from May 1 through October 18, 2015.

Writer/director Sean Abley has wisely chosen this troupe of talented actors to be his Bitches. All women characters (performed over-the-top by males in men's clothing) sharply deliver some snappy one-liners with some delicious drag queen bulls-eyed intensities.
