Learn from Broadway stars this summer at Playhouse on Park! Broadway actors Douglas Lyons and Jason Gotay visit the Playhouse as guest teaching artists for the Musical Theatre Preparatory Program. Running from July 10-July 21, this two week full-day intensive musical theatre program introduces and prepares young actors (3rd-8th grade) for future training and/or performance in music, dance and theater. Additionally, both Lyons and Gotay will hold evening master classes for ages 16 and up.   

Venice Theatre will present the dramatic musical Blood Brothers opening Thursday, March 30, 2017 running through Sunday, April 23, 2017. This gripping story by British playwright Willy Russell (also known for Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine) concerns twin brothers who are separated at birth, with one raised in wealth and the other in poverty.

Conceived by (composer) Douglas Lyons, POLKADOTS was inspired by the 1957 events of the 'Little Rock Nine' in Arkansas and serves as a colorful musical history lesson for children, reminding them that our individual differences make us awesome, not outcasts. Conceived by (composer) Douglas Lyons, POLKADOTS was inspired by the 1957 events of the 'Little Rock Nine' in Arkansas and serves as a colorful musical history lesson for children, reminding them that our individual differences make us awesome, not outcasts.POLKADOTS has lyrics by Mr. Lyons, who co-wrote the score with Greg Borowsky (Sony ATV). Melvin Tunstall III (BLooM!) helmed the book. The show's original illustrations are by Salina Giardino.

Christine O'Grady (Hair) will direct and choreograph the Ivoryton production, with make up design by Joe Dulude (Wicked) and wig design by Bobbie Zlotnik. 

One of Chicago's best storefronts (and quite possibly one of the country's) Theo Ubique production of BLOOD BROTHERS gets to the heart (and relevance) of the show like nobody else can. The end results are heartfelt and engaging.

The Ogunquit Playhouse is thrilled to be the first regional theatre in the country to produce the Tony Award-winning musical Million Dollar Quartet, on stage August 19 to September 19. This high voltage rock 'n roll show, with book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, is inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session that brought together music icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for one of the greatest jam sessions of all time. Featuring timeless hits such as 'Blue Suede Shoes,' 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'I Walk the Line,' 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On,' 'Fever,' 'Folsom Prison Blues,' 'Hound Dog' and more, this thrilling musical brings you inside the recording studio with four major talents who came together as a red-hot rock 'n' roll band for one unforgettable night.

Blood Brothers, which starts performances on 6 February, has quickly become the fastest-selling show at the Hayes Theatre Co since the venue opened its doors. Due to this phenomenal demand for tickets an extra week of performances has been added, as well as some mid-week matinees throughout the season. Blood Brothers will now play until Sunday 15 March 2015. It is the first time a production has extended its run at Hayes Theatre Co and no further extension is possible.
