The Astoria Performing Arts Center has announced Willy Russell's (Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine) BLOOD BROTHERS, musical staging by Christine O'Grady, musical direction by Julianne B. Merrill, and directed by Tom Wojtunik. BLOOD BROTHERS will play a limited engagement at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (30-44 Crescent St, Astoria, NY 11102. Entrance on 30th Road.) BUT BY THE CHANCE OF WAR by Richard C. Lyons, just recently released, is a uniquely different type of book. Due to a critical illness in her family, Casey Husion has withdrawn from directing Something's Afoot at the Goodspeed Opera House. Vince Pesce, originally choreographer of the production, will now also direct the show. During the planning process, Ms. Hushion, who conceived this production, worked closely with Mr. Pesce as she consulted with the authors, chose the creative team and cast the show. Everyone in the Goodspeed family wishes the best to Ms. Hushion and her family while we welcome Mr. Pesce as director.
