Betty Buckley Returns To Fort Worth With Song Interpretation Workshop 7/12-8/4

Direct from her run Off-Broadway in the hit comedy White's Lies, the Broadway star, actress/singer Betty Buckley opens Song Interpretation Workshop to new participants in July 2010. The Song Interpretation Intensive class schedule consists of six sessions beginning on Monday July 12, Wednesday July 14, Monday July 19, Wednesday July 21, Monday August 2, 2010, Wednesday August 4. The Committee for Recognizing Women in Theater presented the first annual 'Lilly Awards' in honor of Lillian Hellman at Playwright's Horizons yesterday, May 24. This year, the Lilly Awards honored 17 women theater artists who have been produced in the past year in New York City. An after party was held and the West Bank Cafe.

This year's annual gala, Broadway at the Boathouse...Encore, was held at the Loeb Central Park Boathouse yesterday evening, May 17, 2010. The honoree was Dr. Sandra Bloom, creator of the Sanctuary Model® of trauma informed care and the Co-Director of the Center for Non-Violence & Social Justice at Drexel University.

Over 400 students representing 18 New York City public middle schools had the chance of a lifetime when they performed songs from Broadway musicals on the stage of the Majestic Theatre yesterday, May 17 as part of the 5th annual Broadway Junior Student Share program. This year's event was hosted by Corbin Bleu, currently starring on Broadway in In the Heights and one of the stars of Disney's phenomenally successful 'High School Musical' film and television series.

Tony- and Emmy award-winning actress Cherry Jones joins Keith Lockhart, the Boston Pops, and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and special guests-actors Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, and Ed Harris-for the world premiere performance of The Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers-the centerpiece of the Boston Pops' 125th anniversary season celebration-on May 18, at 8 p.m. (repeated on May 19), at Symphony Hall in Boston, MA. Cherry Jones, who can currently be seen in the hit TV show 24 as President Allison Taylor, has appeared in Oceans Twelve, The Village, Signs, and Cradle Will Rock, and in guest appearances on television shows including 'The West Wing' and 'Frasier.' Ms. Jones won Tony awards in 1995 for her leading role in The Heiress and in 2005 for her leading role in Doubt, and won an Emmy award in 2009 for her role in 24. The world premiere performances of The Dream Lives On are the centerpiece of the Boston Pops 125th anniversary season, May 4-June 20.
