Joe's pub announces their upcoming shows, kicking off with Matt Doyle APRIL 21-28, kicking off Wednesday, April 21 at 7:00 PM.

Next up on the mainstage at Playwrights Horizons is the new musical BURNT PART BOYS, a co-production between The Vineyard Theatre and Playwrights. Rehearsals began today, March 26, and in celebration, the cast and creative team met the press.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) has announced full casting for the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Polly Stenham's THAT FACE, directed by Sarah Benson (Blasted, Artistic Director of Soho Rep).

The Collegiate Chorale, led by Music Director James Bagwell, presented the World Premiere Two Act Concert Version of Ricky Ian Gordon and Michael Korie's musical version of Nobel Prize-winner John Steinbeck's epic Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Grapes of Wrath, on March 22, 2010 at Carnegie Hall. Conducted by Ted Sperling, the performance featured Jane Fonda as the narrator.

Joe Iconis headed into NYC's MSR Studios on February 28 with his band and the cast of his critically-acclaimed concert event Things To Ruin to lay down tracks for the show's forthcoming album. The recording, which will be released by Sh-K-Boom Records in Summer 2010, features a collection of songs by Kleban and Larson-winner Iconis as seen in Things To Ruin at off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre in May 2009.

Broadway performers Lisa Brescia, Memphis' Chad Kimball, Andrew Samonsky and more have been confirmed to perform in Not The Same: The Music & Lyrics of Bobby Cronin on March 28th at the Metropolitan Room.

Erich Steinbock (Managing Director) is pleased to welcome Tony Award-winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon) to the Café Carlyle to make her New York cabaret debut in an exclusive three-week engagement. 'The Journey So Far' began performances on Tuesday, March 9 and will play through Saturday, March 27.

The Original Cast of the current Broadway revival of HAIR played their final performance last night on Broadway and we were there! The new Tribe will debut on Tuesday, March 9, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, as the current cast takes the production to the West End, opening April 14 at London's Gilegud Theatre.

On Thursday evening, March 4, the off-Broadway production of Love, Loss, and What I Wore welcomed new cast members Didi Conn, Fran Drescher, Jayne Houdyshell, Carol Kane and Natasha Lyonne. Playwrights Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, director Karen Carpenter and producer Daryl Roth joined the new cast in their opening night celebration. On Monday, March 1, Larson Award-winning songwriters Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk featured their work in a special concert at Birdland. The event was part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series, which showcases performers and songwriters from the Great White Way.

Moved to action by the troubles facing Haiti's orphaned and injured children after January's devastating earthquake, BB KING BLUES CLUB and THE PATH FUND joined forces and will be donating 100% of the proceeds of this special benefit concert to UNICEF and Save the Children, organizations working in Haiti to provide safe havens for the thousands of children left homeless by the earthquake.

The Broadway Workshop, Manhattan's fastestgrowing acting program for young artists teamed up with Broadway star Caissie Levy this week for a special one day workshop fro students ages 9-14 in New York City. BroadwayWorld was there to capture the occasion.

On Saturday, February 27, Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) opened John Webster's The Duchess of Malfi, directed by Mr. Berger. The production will run for a limited engagement through March 14th only at Theater at St. Clement's.

The Drama Desk held a panel on February 25 titled 'Women at Work: Directing and Writing for the Theater,' moderated by BroadwayWorld's Adrienne Onofri. Four directors and four playwrights discussed their experiences as women in these male-dominated fields, and talked about the challenges, breakthroughs and gratifications of their work.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY continued its star-studded Fall 2009 season with television stars Michael Urie and Becki Newton on February 21. Due to high demand for tickets, the pair performed two shows last night and BroadwayWorld.com was there to capture the fun!

Last night, Thursday February 18, The New Group opened Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke, as the second production in its 2009-2010 season. This production plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement through March 20 at The New Group at Theatre Row. This production marks the first New York revival since the play's 1985 award-winning debut.

Last night, February 15, 2010 one time Tony-eligible actor Andrew Kober of Broadway's Hair made his New York solo debut at Joe's Pub with a concert event titled Koberet. As previously seen by about 100 Ohioans in the auditorium of Shaker Heights High, this updated Koberet is an even more self-indulgent version of the phenomenon that took the Midwest by storm eight years ago. In it, Broadway's most famous hetero drag queen muses on his life so far... because no one else will.

Last night, February 15, Caissie Levy and Kacie Sheik, who are currently star as Sheila and Jeanie, respectively, in Broadway's Tony-Winning Revival of HAIR, performed at Joe's Pub to support Women in Need, Inc. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the concert.

Midtown got a special Valentine's treat last night, February 14, as B.B. King Blues Club and Grill hosted the 13th annual Broadway Bears auction in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
