President Obama to Honor BILLY ELLIOT's Alex Ko at White House

Alex Ko, who played the title role in the Tony-winning production of Billy Elliot the Musical and recently released his memoir Alex Ko: From Iowa to Broadway, My Billy Elliot Story, will be part of the White House series of arts workshops for local middle and high school youth. Alex will be speaking to the students about the road traveled to the Great White Way, his experience performing in a Broadway show, and writing his recently released memoir through HarperCollins.

On Friday, May 31 at Carnegie Hall, actress and arts advocate Sarah Jessica Parker and fashion designer Zac Posen will share the spotlight with the talented teens who received national honors in the 90 th annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. More than 800 teens from 47 states, along with their families and teachers, are expected to attend the celebration. There, 15 graduating seniors will receive Portfolio Gold Medals, the Awards' highest honor, which includes a $10,000 scholarship. For the first time in the Awards' 90-year history, the ceremony will be webcast live so people across the nation can share in the celebration.

Ford's Theatre Annual Gala Set for 6/2 With Heidi Blickenstaff, Brian Stokes Mitchell and More

Ford's Theatre Society will host its annual gala on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Ford's Theatre (511 10th Street NW) followed by a seated dinner at the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum (750 Ninth Street NW). The evening will include the presentation of the Lincoln Medal to former Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Basketball Hall of Fame honoree Bill Russell, two individuals whose extraordinary character, accomplishments and work reflect Lincoln's legacy of leadership, service, humanity, wisdom, eloquence and vision.

Nuñez, will premiere the four newest commissions in its Radio Radiance series in a recording before a live audience in Kaufmann Concert Hall at the 92nd Street Y.
