From April 28 to September 27, 2015, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents Pathmakers: Women in Art, Craft and Design, Midcentury and Today, an exhibition that considers the notable contributions of women to modernism in postwar visual culture.

The first two nights of THE VOICE's Blind Auditions last week, presented us with a lot of ups, but a few uncharacteristic downs from a show that prides itself on having the best singers on reality TV, and the third night wasn't much different. That being said NBC's megahit still provides the most compelling audition process on TV, and makes other singing shows (cough AMERICAN IDOL) look like the minor leagues in terms of talent.

The 2013 Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust honored playwrights Annie Baker and Rajiv Joseph at last night's 2013 Steinberg Playwright Awards held at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. The producers of the new Broadway musical Soul Doctor - about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone - have formed an ambitious partnership with Michael Steinhardt's Birthright Israel alumni effort, The Alumni Community, the organization's primary provider of post programming, and the central address for participants when they return home from their Israel experience. The partnership, a first for The Alumni Community, includes the opportunity for 5,000 alumni to see Soul Doctor, participate in exclusive receptions and post-performance talkbacks, and is being underwritten by Mr. Steinhardt, co-founder of Birthright Israel.

The producers of the new Broadway musical Soul Doctor, about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone, have announced the show's performance schedule during the upcoming High Holy Days. Also, "Talkback Tuesday" will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd with Michael Steinhardt, co-founder ofTaglit-Birthright Israel. This post-show discussion will take place immediately following that performance and is free for all audience members attending that evening's show.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer), and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer) announced that Manhattan Theatre Club will launch The Studio at Stage II where bold, new work meets bold, new audiences at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street). The Studio at Stage II will launch this fall with the world premiere production of MURDER BALLAD, a new musical by Julia Jordan and Juliana Nash, directed by Trip Cullman, and the American premiere of MTC's commission CHOIR BOY, a play with music by Tarell Alvin McCraney.
