ALTAR BOYZ Announces Changes To Schedule For Summer, Begins 7/4

ALTAR BOYZ announced today that it would be changing its schedule for the summer: beginning Saturday July 4th, the Saturday matinee would be at 4 pm. Beginning Sunday July 12th, the Sunday evening performance will begin at 7:30 pm. Saturday matinees at 2 pm will resume after Labor Day, but the Sunday evening performance will remain at 7:30 pm permanently.

Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma?s premiere professional theatre company, will open its 2009 summer season of musicals on Thursday, June 25th with the live stage version of Disney?s High School Musical 2, the second installment of the wildly popular movie series about the adventures and friendships of a group of high school students. Due to Lyric?s success with the 2007 live production of the first High School Musical, the Oklahoma City theatre company was one of the first in the country to be given permission to produce a professional version of the sequel. Disney?s High School Musical 2 plays from June 25th ? 28th at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. Call (405) 524-9312 for tickets.

'The Leading Men IV,' a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was held Monday, May 11, at 7pm at Birdland, 315 W. 44th St. As part of the long-running Broadway at Birdland series, it featured top singers from Broadway and cabaret. John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Shrek The Musical) once again hosted, and Emmy-nominated writer, host and comic Seth Rudetsky returned as musical director, along with director Alan Muraoka (NAATCO's Falsettoland).

Casting has been announced for Casa Manana's production of High School Musical. Michael Kadin Craig and Jenny Gulley will lead the cast as Troy and Gabriella. Cameron Wade will play Sharpay Evans and Logan Hart will portray Ryan Evans.
The rest of the cast will include Cyndi Steele-Harrod, Brian Mathis, Erica Dorfler, Luke Longacre, Sarah Zeringue, Cori Lynne, Cody Jenkins and Christopher Messina.
