This past week The Public Theater celerbrated their 2015 Summer Gala, which included a special performance of the free Shakespeare in the Park production of THE TEMPEST, featuring a cast that included Sam Waterston and Jesse Tyler Ferguson and directed by Michael Greif. The summer gala also honored Bernard Spitzer (1924-2014) and Anna Spitzer for their extraordinary support over several years. The 2015 Public Theater summer gala featured appearances by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jonathan Groff, Laura Benanti, Sandra Oh, Peter Dinklage, Alan Rickman, Jane Lynch and many more.

This past week The Public Theater celerbrated their 2015 Summer Gala. The gala featured a special performance of the free Shakespeare in the Park production of THE TEMPEST, featuring a cast that includes Sam Waterston and Jesse Tyler Ferguson and directed by Michael Greif. The Public Theater announced complete casting today for CYMBELINE, the second show of The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte. Directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan and featuring the previously announced Hamish Linklater as Posthumus Leonatus/Cloten and Lily Rabe as Imogen, CYMBELINE begins performances on Thursday, July 23 and runs through Sunday, August 23, with an official press opening on Monday, August 10. The Public begins the Free Shakespeare in the Park season tonight, Wednesday, May 27 for THE TEMPEST, featuring Sam Waterston as Prospero.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for The Old Globe production of William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night. Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on June 21 and run through July 26, 2015, with opening night on Saturday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Beautiful City Theatre, in collaboration with Virtu'O, produces the contemporary rock musical NEXT TO NORMAL opening tonight, May 15, 2015 at Centaur Theatre (453 rue St. Francois-Xavier) in Montreal, Quebec. The multiple Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical will run for two weekends, from May 15 - 17, and May 21 - 23, 2015. Evening performances will start at 7:30 PM and matinees on Sunday May 17th and Saturday May 23rd at 1:30 PM.
