Ricky Martin's EVITA Performance Schedule Changes; Max von Essen and Daniel Torres to Step in as Alternates for Monday Shows

Beginning Monday, September 3, 2012, Ricky Martin's performance schedule as Che in the hit production of EVITA will be Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 2pm & 8pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm. Max von Essen and Daniel Torres will alternate in the role of Che at Monday evening performances. The schedule change is part of a slight restructuring of Mr. Martin's appearance agreement with producers and will not change his overall number of performances in EVITA.

The world premiere of Barrow Hill, a first play by new playwright Jane Wainwright, starring Janet Henfrey, and directed by Abbey Wright - whose recent work includes the multi-four star production of Dublin Carol as part of the Donmar at the Trafalgar Studios season - opens at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of nine Sunday and Monday evening and Tuesday matinee performances tonight, Monday, 20 August 2012 at 7.30pm.

Broadway star Ricky Martin appeared on last night's LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON to talk about his starring role as 'Che' in EVITA and his development deal with NBC to write, produce and star in a new TV series. 'I'm really looking forward to it,' said Martin of the upcoming project. The actor also revealed his love of Twitter and his new habit of tweeting 'intermission pictures' from backstage to give fans a behind-the-scenes peek. Variety reports that Prometheus star Rafe Spall and Megan Park have signed on for the Michael Dowse-helmed comedy THE F WORD. The actors join previously announced cast members

Groff plays Ken (orignally played by Tony winner Eddie Redmayne) in the play, alongside Molina who reprises his Tony-nominated role as Mark Rothko. The production is currently running through September 9. Michael Grandage directs. Many plays with an art theme have been written over the past decades, chief among them Yasmina Reza's Art, which shows the positive and negative effects of art on everyday life, but in John Logan's Red, it is the artist (Mark Rothko) himself who holds court, and the audience shares his space with him for two hours. This intimate exposure is awe-inspiring as lyrically expressed by John Logan, and is fiercely conveyed by Alfred Molina as Rothko and Jonathan Groff as Ken his 'employee' on the Taper stage through September 9.
