The Michael Grandage Company production of THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, by Martin McDonagh, starring Daniel Radcliffe and the critically acclaimed West End cast, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage, will open on Broadway during the afternoon of Sunday, April 20 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced its 2014- 2015 theater season today, including the pre-Broadway engagement of Gigi featuring a re-envisioned book by Heidi Thomas with direction by Eric Schaeffer. The Kennedy Center will also produce the world premiere musical Little Dancer with book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty, and direction and choreography by Susan Stroman; touring productions of Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Once; and back by popular demand following its record-breaking six week engagement in 2013, the multi-Tony Award®-winning musical from the creators of South Park, The Book of Mormon, will return for a limited engagement. The season also brings the eighth season of Barbara Cook's Spotlight series, individually showcasing five Broadway performers in a cabaret setting. From March 2 - 24, Iberian Suite: arts remix across continents will bring a multitude of theatrical offerings to the Kennedy Center. As part of the Center's efforts to support the creation of new works, the Kennedy Center will host the 13th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival and the 47th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

Daniel Radcliffe won Best Actor in a Play at London's WhatsOnStage Awards yesterday, for his performance in the Michael Grandage Company production of THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, by Martin McDonagh. Director Michael Grandage also won Best Director for his company's inaugural season of work, including THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN.

Due to popular demand, extra performances of the critically acclaimed stage adaptation of Ian McEwan's The Cement Garden at VAULT Festival 2014 have been added. Tickets for seven 9pm performances on Saturday 22 February, Thursday 27 February - Saturday 1 March and Thursday 6 March - Saturday 8 March, go on sale today. FallOut Theatre's production, co-written by David Aula and Jimmy Osborne, invites audience members into the house which houses a young family's secret and reveals the tensions which arise as the characters make sense of the adult world. The production stars BAFTA-nominated actor George Mackay as Jack in his professional stage debut, and Ruby Bentall (Mike Leigh's Grief, National Theatre; Peter and Alice, Michael Grandage season at the Noel Coward Theatre) as Julie.

West End Ticket Sales Hit New High in 2013

The Society of London Theatre's 2013 Box Office figures, published today (29 January 2014), show record ticket revenue and attendances. Overall attendances increased 4% to 14,587,276 and gross sales of £585,506,455 were up 11% compared to 2012, generating VAT receipts for the Treasury of £97,584,409.

Caroline Bowman is a brunette. Now, I'm not saying she isn't special, it's just that she doesn't have any super distinguishing features---big ears, a weird jaw, a lazy eye, a disproportionate body---she looks like a normal person and that's not a bad thing. But, what separates Bowman from the hordes of brunettes in a room, is that she truly is a triple-threat.
