Music Mountain Presents Harlem String Quartet with Francine Kay & More This Weekend

Music Mountain, America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, continues its 86th anniversary season with another weekend of esteemed artists. Tonight, August 22 welcomes Peter & Will Anderson, with guest Alex Wintz, guitar, performing the best of bebop and jazz (6:30pm). The music continues on Sunday afternoon August 23(3pm) with the Harlem String Quartet and guest artist Francine Kay, piano, performing Beethoven, Turina, Bartok, Borodin, and Dvorak. Concerts are scheduled thru September 27.

America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, continues its 86th anniversary season with a weekend of returning favorite musicians. The Galvanized Jazz Band plays the best of New Orleans jazz tonight, August 15th (6:30PM) and the St. Petersburg String Quartet with guest artists Stefan Milenkovich, Violin and Melvin Chen, Piano will perform Prokofiev, Ravel, and Chausson on Sunday, August 16th (3PM). Weekend concerts at Music Mountain will continue thru September 27th..

Music Mountain, America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, continues its 86th Anniversary season with three returning favorites! The weekend begins with No Tune Like A Show Tune: The Best of Broadway, Michael Berkeley's toe-tapping musical revue, on Saturday, August 29 (6:30pm) plus pre-concert dinner (5pm)! The music continues on Sunday, August 30 (3PM) with the outstanding Dover String Quartet with guest artist Alexander Fiterstein, clarinet, performing a program featuring Dutilleux, Dvorak, and Mozart. The summer still simmers with many more concerts scheduled thru September 27!

Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, continues its 86th anniversary season with a weekend of exceptional classical music. The weekend begins tonight, August 8 (6:30pm) with an evening dedicated to Italian & German 17th & 18th Century Music for Soprano, Baroque Trumpet and Harpsichord featuring Christine Gevert, harpsichord. Following on Sunday, August 9 (3pm) is the St. Petersburg String Quartet with guest artist Pamela Mia Paul, piano performing Sulkhan Tsintsadze; Arensky; and Shostakovich. Concerts featuring local jazz and country groups, plus world-renowned chamber ensembles, continue thru September 27th.

Twenty years ago, Michael Berkeley and Ray Roderick mounted their Rip Van Winkle musical in Pine Plains, NY. A newly-refurbished Rip will reawaken with a revamped score and new book as Rip! The Musical at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, beginning today, July 17, and continuing through July 19.

In keeping with last season's success, Music Mountain will continue their season past Labor Day - making this season, once again, one of the longest running seasons since the 1930s! The summer will include many favorite returning chamber ensembles, first time guests, the ever-popular Saturday Evening Twilight Series featuring Jazz, Country, and Folk Music, and the first Great Artist Recital Series. The Dover String Quartet returns to Gordon Hall on Sunday, September 7 (3PM) with guest artist Roberto Diaz, viola. This summer has welcomed a wide range of music for audiences of all ages - from classical, to jazz, country and this weekend's tribute to the Broadway musical - it has been a summer to celebrate! Concerts run thru September 14.
