Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) will be celebrating the grand opening of The New MTC with a gala fundraiser tonight, September 27 at 7pm. The gala will take place at The New MTC, located at 509 Westport Avenue in Norwalk (behind Jones New York and Nine West Outlet). All proceeds will benefit MTC and its programming. As part of the Art After 5 series, the Philly-based band will perform today, May 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The band is made up of internationally renowned vibraphonist Tony Miceli, vocalist/harmonicist Paul Jost, bassist Kevin MacConnell and drummer Charlie Patierno. This event is free with museum admission, $20; seniors $18; youth, 13 to 18, and students with valid ID $14; children 12 and under free. Joe McGinniss, Sr., American author known for his best-selling The Selling of the President 1968 which described the marketing of then-presidential candidate Richard Nixon, has died at the age of 71. He authored eleven works, including his last bookwas The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, an account of Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska who was the unsuccessful 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee.
