54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, has announced plans to augment its diverse programming with a varied new series of in-house productions including a new interview series, a new musicals-in-concert series (following-up on the success of the club's wildly successful High Fidelity in Concertevent), and a program for new composers. The venue will continue to present its popular Sondheim Unplugged series featuring some of Broadway's brightest stars sharing performances and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from their favorite Sondheim musicals.
New Musical GOD'S COUNTRY to Open 7/18 at NYMF

God's Country, an original musical by Erik Johnke (Book and Lyrics) and Elaine Chelton (Music) set in 19th Century New York City, will be presented at the 10th Annual New York Music Theatre Festival (NYMF) for five performances starting on Thursday, July 18, at 9:00 PM, at The Pershing Square Signature Center Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street. The musical is directed by Craig J. George and choreographed by Thomas-Sabella Mills. The Music Director is Bryan L. Wade.
Max Von Essen to Lead Industry Readings of GAY BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN

Noted Entertainment attorney, Eric S. Goldman, will present two industry readings of Billy Butler's GAY BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, on Monday, February 4th at 6pm & Tuesday, February 5th at 11am at the 45th Street Theatre, in preparation for a future Off-Broadway run. The readings are produced in association with aka Studio Productions, Louis Hobson and Seattle's Balagan Theatre. The production is directed by award winning director Rachel Klein "the Mistress of the Macabre" (FlavorPill Magazine). Aaron Grant serves as Executive Producer with Kelvin Productions as General Manager.

The iStar Theatre Lab's Producing Artistic Director Tony Spinosa and Managing Director Laura Bultman, announced today announced final casting for Gay Bride of Frankenstein a new musical by Billy Butler and Dane Leeman. The musical which will be directed by 2011 New York Innovative Theatre (IT Award) nominee Rachel Klein is part of iStar Theatre Lab's inaugural season scheduled to take place July 16th through August 5th in New York City.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities presents HAIRSPRAY, starring Jim J. Bullock. Known for his work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, LA Theater and Television, including the series Too Close for Comfort and The New Hollywood Squares, Jim previously performed the role of Wilbur Turnblad on Broadway. This time Jim takes the Arvada Center stage as the favorite 'Mother of the 50's forced into the 60's', Edna Turnblad. This fully staged regional production of Hairspray closes July 17, 2011.

The Arvada Center presents the first regional production of 'Hairspray the Musical,' and Eden takes us to the final days of rehearsal to meet two of the stars. Megan Kane plays Tracy Turnblad, and Jim J. Bullock plays Tracy's mother, Edna. PROJECT RUNWAY star Mondo Guerra tells Eden about returning to the Arvada Center as a guest costumer designer for this production. And the Arvada Center Artistic Producer Rod Lansberry shares the experience of doing double duty as the productions director.
