Audiences will be whisked away to 1960s Baltimore when Pittsburgh CLO presents Hairspray July 20 - August 1 at the Benedum Center. Adapted for the stage from John Water's 1988 film, Hairspray ran on Broadway for over six years and has since become a toe-tapping hit all over the world.

Two-time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals will bring the delightful new musical comedy Radio Girl to the stage this summer at The Norma Terris Theatre, its home for developing new works in Chester, Conn. Based on the beloved story of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, this wholesome tale will charm audiences of all ages July 29 through August 22.

I've been waiting years to see Wicked. Numerous times I've just missed the national tour as I moved from city to city and there were some unfortunately timed vacations along the way. For years friends and family have been telling me how much I have to see this show and the Original Cast Recording has played countless times in my car and office. So last night as three winged-monkeys turned a crank to raise the Wicked curtain during the Overture, my excitement could not have been higher. But I never imagined I would leave the theatre feeling…disheartened.

They will be joined by virtuoso bassist Dave Phillips. The ticketed event is open to the public.

The 2010 Summer Gala will honor Lincoln Center Theater Executive Producer and former Public Theater Associate Producer Bernard Gersten and Bank of America. Cary Hoffman's highly acclaimed show My Sinatra, A Musical Memoir About Obsession, has been extended after 2 sold out shows at The Triad. Before making The Triad his home, Cary held several successful and critically acclaimed workshops at the Algonquin Theater downtown.
