Boardwalk Empire has found its young J. Edgar Hoover. According to Deadline, showrunners for HBO's hit period drama have tapped Eric Ladin to portray the future director of the FBI in the series' upcoming fourth season as a recurring role.

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by American Express, announced today that the 30th Anniversary of Martin Scorsese's The King of Comedy, restored in association with The Film Foundation, Regency Enterprises and Twentieth Century Fox, will close its 12th edition on Saturday, April 27.

The screening will be held Saturday, April 27, followed by a panel with Clint Eastwood moderated by director Darren Aronofsky. The new documentary, produced by Richard Schickel (historian and veteran Time Magazine critic), focuses on Eastwood's unique directorial style as seen through the eyes of many of his actors and producing partners. Interviewed are Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, among others. The documentary explores how the five-time Academy Award-winning Eastwood has managed to be successful with the more than 40 films he has made with Warner Bros. in nearly as many years.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will present a special Midnight screening at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street) of Stanley Kubrick's horror classic THE SHINING on Friday, March 29 following the opening of Rodney Ascher's documentary ROOM 237. ROOM 237 explores the opinions and commentary of cinephiles and dedicated fans of the Kubrick's masterpiece who each believe they have found clues embedded within the film that tell a story just as compelling as the film itself. Ascher and producer Tim Kirk will attend and participate in post-screening Q&As following the 6:30PM show on Friday, March 29 and the 1:30PM and 6:30PM shows on Saturday, March 30.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will present the comedian, singer, actress, and author Sandra Bernhard on April 27, 2013 at the Byham Theater. Bernhard's performance is a hybrid of standup comedy and rock 'n roll - a unique mixture of political satire, pop culture commentary and cabaret. Bernhard's bitter critiques of celebrity culture have earned her a spot on Comedy Central's famous "100 Greatest Standups of All Time." This performance is a part of the 2012-2013 Cohen & Grigsby Trust Presents series.

Hershey Area Playhouse will present the Pulitzer Prize winning play Proof in April. Proof is the story of a mathematician whose genius and madness wreaks havoc on his daughters and a former student. When the former student finds a revolutionary mathematical proof among the mathematician's papers, the characters become steeped in conflict as they struggle to determine who wrote the proof.

BoHo Theatre presents Hauptmann, an examination of truth and media indictment, by lauded Chicago playwright John Logan. The production runs tonight, March 22nd through April 21st at the Heartland Studio in Rogers Park.

The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center present seven official selections for the 2013 New Directors/New Films Festival (ND/NF) (today, March 20-31). Dedicated to the discovery of new works by emerging and dynamic filmmaking talent, the 2013 edition marks the film festival's 42nd year.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center presents the film series Foxy, The Complete Pam Grier (today, March 15-17). Screening at the Walter Reade Theater (165 West 65th Street) and the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street), and highlighted by the attendance of Grier at several screenings, the film series includes such fan favorites and notable classics as THE BIG BIRD CAGE (1972), COFFY (1973), ESCAPE FROM LA (1996), FOXY BROWN (1974), and GREASED LIGHTNING (1977), as well as JACKIE BROWN (1997) featuring her Golden Globe and SAG Award nominated performance in the title role.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Old Ghosts, New Dreams: The Emerging Cambodian Cinema (April 19-25). To be presented in conjunction with the citywide Season of Cambodia arts festival, FSLC will team with the great documentarian Rithy Panh to screen a fascinating survey of films from Cambodia.

Four renowned achievers will be honored for their lifetime accomplishments with the 34th Annual Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service. The awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern society in a range of human endeavors. The Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy will present Grit, Graft & Grandeur: The Bowery, a walking tour with Eric Ferrara on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 10:45 AM. Meeting at the southeast corner of Centre and Worth Streets, this two-hour walking tour explores the Bowery, one of the most important thoroughfares of New York City's Lower East Side, as well as the historic neighborhood known as Five Points. Often associated with its 20th century reputation as 'Skid Row,' this under-appreciated avenue was also once one of the most fashionable addresses in New York and is now a quickly gentrifying artery of the East Village. Ferrara, founder of the Lower East Side History Project and a fourth-generation Lower East Sider, discusses the Bowery's history, evolution and its place in New York City today.
