Breaking News: It's the Hard Knock Life - ANNIE to Close on Broadway January 5, 2014

The producers of ANNIE announced this evening that the show will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Upon closing, the production, which opened on November 8, 2012 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street), will have played 487 performances and 38 previews.

She is determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.

Deadline.com reports that Bobby Cannavale will be joining the new ANNIE film remake, alongside Quvenzhane Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and Rose Byrne. Cannavale will play a political advisor for Foxx's character, who is running for mayor of New York.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Jenni Barber, who most recently starred in THE NANCE on Broadway will take on 'Grace Farrell' in ANNIE beginning August 20. Brynn O'Malley, who currently plays the role, will temporarily depart to star in HONEYMOON IN VEGAS at Paper Mill Playouse. She will return to the production on November 5.
