Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre Postpones THE WOOD Opening Until 9/15

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that due to Hurricane Irene, performances of The Wood, a new play by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores about the life of New York columnist Mike McAlary, have been delayed. The Wood will now begin performances on Thursday, September 1 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). Opening night, previously set for Friday, September 9, will now be Thursday, September 15 at 8pm. David Bar Katz directs.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that Vladimir Versailles has joined the cast of The Wood, a new play by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores about the life of New York columnist Mike McAlary. Mr. Versailles assumes the role of Abner Louima, replacing Gregory Bastien who has left the production.

Juilliard's Drama Division announces the complete schedule for its 2011-2012 season of fully-staged productions featuring students in their fourth and final year of acting training at Juilliard. This season's plays include Arthur Miller's All My Sons, directed by Harris Yulin, October 19-23; Juilliard alumnus Nathan Jackson's Broke-ology, directed by Kent Gash, November 10-14; and Noel Coward's Hay Fever, directed by Dakin Matthews, December 8-12. The Drama Division is led by James Houghton, Richard Rodgers Director of Drama.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today complete casting for the world premiere of Asuncion, a new play written by Academy Award-nominee (The Social Network) and playwright Jesse Eisenberg. Joining the previously announced Mr. Eisenberg are Remy Auberjonois (The Country Girl Frost/Nixon), Justin Bartha (Lend Me A Tenor, The Hangover 1&2) and Camille Mana (Smart People, 'One on One') making her Off-Broadway debut in the title role.

The cast of MCC Theater's Submission, starring Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, 'Glee'), Will Rogers (When the Rain Stops Falling), Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Pie, HBO's 'How to Make It in America'), and Rutina Wesley ('True Blood,' The Vertical Hour) met the press today, August 8. The production will be directed by Tony Award-Winner Walter Bobbie (School for Lies, Chicago). Performances begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on September 8, 2011 and continue through October 22, 2011. An official opening is set for September 26, 2011.
