Westport Country Playhouse will stage Terrence McNally's summer sizzler, 'Lips Together, Teeth Apart,' directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, playing July 12 - 30. The third production in the Playhouse's 80th birthday year, 'Lips Together, Teeth Apart' is a perceptive comedy with powerful dramatic conflicts about two straight couples spending a July weekend on Fire Island.

Theatre for Humans (www.theatreforhumans.com), an arts and entertainment production company dedicated to telling the poignant stories of those impacted by current global issues, today announced its soon-to-be-titled inaugural project - a powerful play that examines the challenges of women and girls in the United States and developing countries around the globe. Renowned playwright Marsha Norman, who was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for ‘night, Mother and the Tony Award for The Secret Garden, will bring this inspirational, Off-Broadway piece to life in New York City beginning in the spring of 2013.

MCC THEATER today announced that Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, 'Glee'), Will Rogers (When the Rain Stops Falling), Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Pie, HBO's 'How to Make It in America'), and Rutina Wesley ('True Blood,' The Vertical Hour) will star in the world premiere production of The Submission, by Jeff Talbott, directed by Tony Award-Winner Walter Bobbie (School for Lies, Chicago). Performances of this funny and furiously intelligent new play begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on September 8, 2011 and continue through October 22, 2011. An official opening is set for September 26, 2011.

Anne Cattaneo Wins 2011 Margo Jones Award

The Ohio State University Arts and Humanities and University Libraries' Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute has announced that it will present the prestigious 2011 Margo Jones Award to Lincoln Center Theater dramaturg Anne Cattaneo. The award, which will be presented to Ms. Cattaneo in a ceremony in the Vivian Beaumont Theater lobby on Monday, July 11 beginning at 5:30, is given annually to a 'citizen-of-the-theatre who has demonstrated a significant impact, understanding and affirmation of the craft of playwriting, with a lifetime commitment to the encouragement of the living theatre everywhere.'
