August Strindberg Repertory Theatre and Negro Ensemble Company to Present PLAYING WITH FIRE, 5/18-6/10

August Strindberg's Chekhovian comedy, 'Playing With Fire' (Leka med elden, 1893), in a translation by Ulrika Brand that has been newly adapted by Obie-winner Leslie Lee, Executive Director of Negro Ensemble Company, will be presented May 18 to June 10 with an all-black cast as the inaugural production of August Strindberg Repertory Theatre, directed by Robert Greer. The play, to be staged at New School for Drama, 151 Bank Street (West Village), will be a co-production of August Strindberg Repertory Theatre and Negro Ensemble Company in association with Theater Resources Unlimited.

27 April - 13 May, Pontine Theatres co-directors, Greg Gathers & Marguerite Mathews, bring their unique approach to literary adaptations to George Savary Wasson's early 20th century stories drawn from Cap'n Simeon's Store (1903) and The Green Shay (1905). Performances are Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and Sundays at 2pm. There is an addtional 8pm performance on Saturday 28 April.

The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the world premiere production of Bad Jews by Joshua Elias Harmon and directed by Daniel Aukin for the fall season. Bad Jews will begin preview performances on October 5, 2012 and will open officially on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. This is a limited engagement through December 16, 2012.
