According to a report from whatsonstage.com, Daniel Lapaine and Darrel D'Silva will join previously cast Sheridan Smith in Ibsen's Hedda Gabler at the Old Vic. Previews begin September 5, with an opening set on September 12, 2012.

As part of the current three-play Royal Court at the Duke of York's Season with Posh by Laura Wade, Jumpy by April De Angelis and Constellations by Nick Payne, four of the UK's leading playwrights will direct one of their all-time favourite plays in a series of one-off afternoon readings from 29 June at the Duke of York's Theatre in a special event supported by The Ambassador Theatre Group. Nick Payne, Polly Stenham, Roy Williams and David Eldridge will select their favourite plays and will have less than two days to bring their vision to life with a full cast to be announced for staged readings on Friday afternoons this summer.

Sheridan Smith will star in the Old Vic's production of HEDDA GABLER by Henrik Ibsen, in a version by Brian Friel directed by Anna Mackmin. The show begins previews on the 5th of September and opens on the 12th for a run until the 10th of Novemeber.

One Year Lease Theater Company presents the New York premiere of pool (no water) by controversial English playwright Mark Ravenhill (Shopping and F*cking) for a limited Off-Broadway run from tonight, May 9 through May 26 at 9th Space (150 First Avenue, at 9th Street). Out of Joint Artistic Director Max Stafford-Clark will revisit Timberlake Wertenbaker's Olivier Award winning play, OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD, in a new production touring the UK this autumn. Looking at the first British convict colony to land in Australia, OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD will launch at the Octagon Theatre Bolton on 3 September. The production will also visit London's newest venue, St James Theatre, in early 2013.

This show not only marks the premier performance of Some Explicit Polaroids to the Boston area, but also Brown Box Theatre Project's first production since relocating from New York City to the Boston area this November past.

Following the World Shakespeare Festival, the RSC's winter season opens in October with a family show - a new adaptation of Russell Hoban's classic children's story The Mouse and His Child. Acclaimed as one of the classics of 20th century children's literature, The Mouse and His Child is a moving story about two clockwork mice thrown on a scrap heap who then have tobegin a dangerous quest for a place to belong. It is adapted for the stage by Tamsin Oglesby and will be directed by Told By An Idiot's Co-Artistic Director, Paul Hunter, who directed the RSC's recent Young People's Shakespeare production of The Comedy of Errors.
