Today the Rose Theatre Kingston announced its 2014 Season. 2014 will see the theatre continue to produce Rose Productions as well as embarking on new and exciting partnerships, sharing skills and resources with other theatre companies and venues to create top quality theatre. Visiting companies including Propeller and the Royal Shakespeare Company, touring family productions and one night events complete the season.

The Actors Touring Company, Young Vic Theatre, Brageteatret & Schauspielhaus Wien will take their co-production, THE EVENTS, written by David Greig, on the road beginning this month. Directed by Ramin Gray, with music by John Browne, the show will play Edinburgh Fringe Fest before launching into a full UK tour. The entire itinerary is below.

BWW Review: Wave Productions' GOD STEELING Tackles Race and Culture in '80s NYC

GOD STEELING was a super interesting play. Couching this relationship story within the social and political climate of the early 1980s is not something that I frankly see enough. How race, social standing and culture plays into the lives of these union 'brothers' is a bottomless pool of material. Overall, I would like to have seen a bit more subtlety in the performances, but I do have to say that James Fenton's set is worth the price of admission.
