On April 4, 2014, The New York Pops continued its 31st season at Carnegie Hall with Lights, Camera, Action: A Night in Hollywood, featuring the orchestra and Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA, to travel through Hollywood history with the music that has transformed film's most iconic scenes into unforgettable moments of passion, fear, love, and hope for generations. The program included a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, a tribute to the movie music of Marvin Hamlisch, selections from Ben-Hur by Miklós Rózsa, and selections from The Mission by Ennio Morricone. Atlanta Lyric Theatre, now in its 35th year as the metro area's only professional musical theatre company, has announced its upcoming 2014-15 season of musicals at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta. On Monday, April 28, 2014, The New York Pops marks its 31st birthday with a grand gala evening celebrating the work of composer, lyricist, and arranger Marc Shaiman and director, lyricist, and writer Scott Wittman

The Possum Point Players will soon be selecting directors for their 2015 season. Last night, Roundabout Theatre Company honored Sam Mendes with the Jason Roberts Award for Excellence in Theatre. The criterion for this award is to have made an "indelible impact on the theatre world." The award was named after the founder of Roundabout and is given each year in remembrance of his own impact on the theatre world.

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, and The New York Musical Theatre Festival(NYMF) will proudly present the winner of the 2013 'NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation,' Erica Lustig, in a special one-night-only concert tonight, March 11, 2014. The talented Florida native took the competition by storm when she walked away as the winner of this highly competitive program, which has become not only a highlight of the NYMF season, but a New York musical theatre tradition among those in the know.

Barry James, Josefina Gabrielle, Richard Dempsey and Kirsty Malpass will join the previously announced Alex Jennings (Willy Wonka) in the cast of the record-breaking West End production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
