Malcolm Gets News

There's very little I can recommend from Vigil, Morris Panych's two-person play which I'll assume was meant to be darkly humorous and quirky, but ends up a rather dreary and frequently ugly ninety-five minute affair.

Tony-winner Shuler Hensley (Young Frankenstein, Oklahoma), Broadway, television and film star Malcolm Gets (The Story of My Life, Amour), acclaimed director Francesca Zambello (The Little Mermaid, Little House on the Prairie) Lisa Brescia (Wicked, Aida) The Lion King's Nathaniel Stampley, and Billy Elliot's Joel Hatch are all scheduled to appear in THE SKY IS NOT FALLI¬NG a benefit concert for the SKYLIGHT OPERA THEATRE at 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 5th, 2009 at St. Luke's Theatre at 308 W. 46th Street (off 8th Avenue).

The New York Times is reporting that Malcolm Gets and Helen Stenborg will star in the dark comedy Vigil at the DR 2 Theatre, September 20th through November 22nd.

This event will raise funds for Coyote REP to develop this piece and to raise awareness for the Young Survivors Coalition.
