The classic film 'Rocky' Sylvester Stallone, who won the story of underdog boxer Rocky Balboa 1976 three Oscars celebrated on 18.11.2012 re-premiere, this time in the category Musical in Hamburg Operettenhaus.

The Downtown Players, part of Lambertville's Downtown Performing Arts Center, ring in the holiday season with two special productions: A Christmas Carol and Frosty and Rudolph. Both shows, set to run this weekend, beginning today, December 21 and continuing Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23, will be performed at the South Hunterdon Regional High School Theatre located at 301 Mount Airy - Harbourton Road in Lambertville, New Jersey.

Today we are kicking off the first of two world exclusive song premieres from the brand new holiday music collection A VERY BROADWAY CHRISTMAS with original BEAUTY & THE BEAST star Susan Egan's hilarious and endearing take on a particularly theatrical holiday tune coming from the pens of RAGTIME composer/lyricist combination of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, "Christmas Cliches".

'Tis the season for merriment and Christmas joy as well as for reflecting on the vicissitudes of life and, as the chasm grows between the rich and the poor, it isn't surprising to find so many bay area theatres offering up adaptations of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol.'

Today we are talking to a Tony Award-winning Broadway and Hollywood notable all about his terrifically theatrical background - having appeared in musicals ranging from his debut in the ill-fated MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG to his Tony Award-winning work in JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY to most recent role as the artistic director of LA's lauded Reprise! Theatre Company - the one and only Jason Alexander. Expounding upon his big Broadway break in Stephen Sondheim & Harold Prince's MERRILY and what it was like to witness the two titans as they developed the piece, Alexander shares his insights into the art of Broadway and also casts a glance back at his roles in Kander & Ebb's THE RINK, Mel Brooks's THE PRODUCERS and directing Sondheim‘s musicals himself (such as SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE with frequent InDepth InterView participant Kelli O‘Hara). Alexander also opens up about some of his most celebrated dramatic and comedic work to date - to say nothing of the iconic TV dynasty of SEINFELD, we also touch upon the TV movie musicals adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL (with a score by Alan Menken & Lynn Ahrens), co-starring Kelsey Grammer, and Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, (with fellow InDepth InterView participant Bernadette Peters), as well as his recent appearance on HARRY'S LAW and more. My journey with the cast of A Christmas Carol, The Musical, now playing at Creative Ministries Performing Arts Center (CMPAC), comes to end with their opening. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Ms. Ahrens and Mike Ockrent, this wonderful cast surely didn't disappoint. Now playing through December 30th at the Oakdale, Long Island, theatre, you're in for a wonderful evening when you see this Timothy Pappalardo directed production originally presented by Madison Square Garden.

Happy Birthday, Graciela Daniele! As a performer, Daniele made her Broadway debut in What Makes Sammy Run? in 1964. She studied with Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham while working with such luminaries as Bob Fosse, Agnes de Mille, and Michael Bennett, who hired her to assist him with Follies in 1971. Her first credit as a full-fledged choreographer was the 1979 revival of The Most Happy Fella. She has directed and/or choreographed several musicals of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, including, most recently, The Glorious Ones (2007) and Dessa Rose (2005) at the Off-Broadway Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater at Lincoln Center. She has directed and/or choreographed several musicals of Michael John LaChiusa Off-Broadway, most recently Bernarda Alba (2006) and Little Fish (2003).
