Opening weekend for San Francisco Opera's 2016-17 Season continues with the 43rd San Francisco Chronicle Presents Opera in the Park free outdoor concert on Sharon Meadow in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, Sunday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m. This annual open-air concert celebrates the opening of San Francisco Opera's 94th season and features many distinguished artists from the Company's Fall Season performing favorite arias and duets by Donizetti, Giordano, Rossini, Verdi and others accompanied by Company Music Director Nicola Luisotti and conductor George Manahan leading the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.

Roberto Iarussi is a classically trained singer whose extraordinary vocal talent, and musical sensibilities enable him to perform across a wide variety of musical genres. Though recognized as an Opera Singer, the second generation Italo American found his inspiration from great singers of many different musical styles, most notably Barbra Streisand, to whom Iarussi dedicates his recently completed milestone recording, entitled 'I BELIEVE' which was recorded with London Symphony Orchestra.

The Den Theatre is pleased to announce the expansion into its newest space, The Bookspan Theatre, set to open in fall 2016. Named for respected arts educator, performance coach, director and performer Janet Bookspan, the 99-seat, fully adaptable theatre will open at 1335 N. Milwaukee Ave., adjacent to The Den's six other theatres and spaces. Haven Theatre Company will be the head resident company of the The Bookspan, set to inaugurate the space with the Chicago premiere of How We Got On by Idris Goodwin, directed by Jess McLeod from September 29 - November 12, 2016. Other companies expected to produce in the space during the 2016-17 season include Griffin Theatre and Route 66 Theatre Company. 

THE OCEAN GROVE CAMP MEETING ASSOCIATION (OGCMA) will present its annual Sacred Masterwork concert on Sunday, August 28th at 7:00pm at The Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. This year's free concert is Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio "Elijah." OCGMA's Director of Music Ministries, Jason C. Tramm, will conduct the Great Auditorium Choir and guest soloists Monica Ziglar (soprano), Martha Bartz (Mezzo-Soprano), Ronald Naldi (tenor) and Justin Beck (Bass-Baritone), accompanied by the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra and OGCMA's Gordon Turk, Organist-in-Residence. Tulsa Opera announces a thrilling lineup of four productions for the 2016-2017 Season.

Lincoln Center's Spring Gala took place on Monday, April 11, at Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Steven A. Kandarian and MetLife were honored. There were 470 guests and nearly $3 million was raised. Since 1997, MetLife's sponsorship of Live From Lincoln Center has been instrumental to the series' success, and has enabled Lincoln Center to bring this program to hundreds of millions of people across the nation, building new audiences for the arts.
