The classic 1983 movie, Trading Places, starring Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykyroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis is getting a makeover, and Philadelphia has been chosen as the city for its 2016 premiere. The film brought issues of social conciousness to a wide audience and through the lens of comedy.

Papa Weeze Hosts Charity Estate Sale to Benefit Living Faith Non-profit

Papa Weeze will host a charity estate sale on from June 9-12, 8 am to 5 pm, all proceeds benefiting Living Faith, a nonprofit organization supporting the annual Easter production The Cross and the Light. Items for sale will include furniture, clothing, artwork, appliances, dorm furniture, jewelry, dolls, knick knacks, children's clothing, tools, lawn equipment, household goods, machinery, and other treasures.

Laurel and Hardy must be smiling in the comedy Valhalla. Cabrillo Music Theatre's near-perfect production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which opened last night at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza's Scherr Forum, brings back the classic, broad humor from vaudeville, performed by an inspired cast of crazies who not only aren't afraid of anything going wrong, but are probably HOPING for mishaps that would destroy any other show. This is, of course, because Forum is one of those shows where spontaneity and the unexpected is almost as obligatory as Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart's uproarious script and Stephen Sondheim's witty lyrics.
