Lindsay Mendez has taken New York by storm over the past two years. She has received critical acclaim for her role as Rose in DOGFIGHT, and is currently starring in WICKED at the Gershwin Theater. That's just her day job, as Mendez recently released the album THIS TIME with her music partner Marco Paguia.

Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular 'Backstage' with Susie Mosheris the '54 Piano Bar,' a new vocal competition - 'The Callback,' and more:

Emmy Award-winner Carol Kane will return to the Broadway production of Wicked as Madame Morrible, starting performances tonight, July 1, 2013. Ms. Kane has previously performed the role on Broadway, in Los Angeles, and on tour.

Fresh off the national tour of Wicked, Michael Wartella will assume the role of Boq in WICKED on Broadway, beginning performances today, June 25.

Ms. Kane has previously performed the role on Broadway, in Los Angeles, and on tour. Fresh off the national tour of WICKED, Michael Wartella will assume the role of Boq, beginning performances onTuesday, June 25.

Last night, June 18, WICKED's current cast members, including Lindsay Mendez (Elphaba) and Derek Klena (Fiyero) gathered at the Gershwin theatre to commemorate the show's the 4,000th performance. BroadwayWorld was there for the special celebration and you can check out full photo coverage below!

In 2007, Lindsay Mendez made her Broadway Debut as Jan in a revival of GREASE. She has since returned to Broadway in Sherie Rene Scott's EVERYDAY RAPTURE in 2012, the GODSPELL's revival in 2011, and she is currently starring as Elphaba in WICKED. In addition to these Broadway roles, she got phenomenal reviews as Rose in Off-Broadway's DOGFIGHT at 2nd Stage Theatre Company in 2012. Furthermore, Lindsey Mendez is an accomplished jazz vocalist and has recorded the 13 track THIS TIME with pianist/band leader Marco Paguia. The album lavishly showcases their prowess as performers and their infectious musical chemistry.

'Making it on Broadway' (www.makingitonbroadway.net) a week long intensive theater and theater education series in New York City, has only a few spots left in its exciting summer session. This summer, the prestigious guest teachers include, but are not limited to, Laura Osnes (Tony Nominee for 'Cinderella'), Frank Wildhorn (Composer of 'Jekyll and Hyde', 'Scarlet Pimpernel', 'Bonnie and Clyde', 'Wonderland'), Pasek and Paul (Tony Nominated Composers of 'A Christmas Story'), Anthony Rapp ('Rent'), and Lindsay Mendez (Star of 'Dogfight' and currently playing Elphaba in 'Wicked').

Lindsay Mendez and Derek Klena recently joined the cast of Wicked, assuming the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero. They join a cast which includes Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Randy Danson as Madame Morrible, Adam Grupper as The Wizard, Catherine Charlebois as Nessarose, F. Kerrigan-Lowdermilk LIVE brings us the innovative tracks composed and written by the duo Kerrigan and Lowdermilk. The album is a live recording of a concert that features music written by Kait Kerrigan and composed by Brian Lowdermilk, and performed by recognizable Broadway performers.
