Fifty years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act, the New York Festival of Songbrings back one of its most beloved shows, HARLEM RENAISSANCE, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 8:00 pm as it continues the 2014-15 Mainstage series atMerkin Concert Hall.

Los Angeles favorite Hershey Felder returns to the Geffen Playhouse in Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin. The production is directed by Trevor Hay, who has collaborated with the performer and creator on An American Story, Abe Lincoln's Piano, Hershey Felder as Franz Liszt and The Pianist of Willesden Lane. Previews for Irving Berlin begin tonight, November 11, the press opening will be on November 19 and the production is currently scheduled to close on December 21, 2014.

Anthony Freud, general director of Lyric Opera of Chicago, today announced Memory and Reckoning, a confluence of activities related to the Chicago premiere of Mieczysaw Weinberg's The Passenger, on stage at Lyric February 24 through March 15. This poignant and gripping 20th-century masterpiece portrays the story of the Holocaust from the perspectives of both victim and perpetrator, and was only recently rediscovered after more than 40 years of suppression.

Baltimore, Md. (November 5, 2014) — In a program that continues the 2014-2015 season theme of spirituality in music, Music Director Marin Alsop pays tribute to her mentor Leonard Bernstein. Maestra Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in a concert featuring the works of both Bernstein and Beethoven, Friday, November 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Saturday, November 22 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and Symphony No. 1, “Jeremiah” are accompanied by Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, the last work Bernstein conducted before his death in 1990. Joining Marin Alsop and the BSO will be members of the Cathedral Choral Society, the BSO's first-ever collaboration with the Washington, D.C.-based choir. The Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues its 35th Season with the musical CANDIDE, Royal National Theatre Version, with music by Leonard Bernstein, book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, in a new version by John Caird; and lyrics by Richard Wilbur, additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John Latouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker and Leonard Bernstein. Featuring Leonard Bernstein's soaring score and lyrics from some of the wittiest writers of all time, this rollicking musical satire chronicles the lives and loves of Candide, a simple soul whose glass is always half-full.

On December 19 and 20, 2014 at 8:00 PM, The New York Pops will present an evening full of holiday cheer at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage featuring Tony, Emmy and two-time Golden Globe nominee, Matthew Morrison, and five-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara. The orchestra will also be joined by Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke will lead the concert, which will include festive classics like "Carol of the Bells," "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," and "Winter Wonderland," plus some of the Broadway's most beloved musical numbers.

The world-renowned Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) conducted by Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will be presented on Saturday, November 22, at Roseville Lutheran Church by VocalEssence, as part of the 46th anniversary season of Minnesota's acclaimed professional chorus.

The new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN will be recorded today, November 3, for a two-disc cast album to be released by PS Classics. ON THE TOWN, which features a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, music by Leonard Bernstein, and is based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, is currently running at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036).

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) presents A Night at the Tonys, this year's William and Greta Wiley Flory Concert, an annual cabaret performance, taking place tonight, Nov. 3, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at Francis W. Parker School (2233 North Clark Street) as part of the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival.
