WEST SIDE STORY is a classic musical that audiences have been enjoying for many decades. When one hears songs by Leonard Bernstein and Stephan Sondheim such as "Tonight" or "Somewhere," you are immediately drawn into the story of love and hate that exists between two groups of people who have more in common than they would like to admit. The Woodlawn Theatre in San Antonio's latest production of WEST SIDE STORY represented the true spirit of the play as local actors took to the stage in San Antonio's latest production.

The Tony Award nominated revival of On The Town concludes its run on Broadway tonight, September 6, following 28 previews and 368 regular performances, making this the longest-running Broadway production of the show since the 1944 original. ON THE TOWN began previews on September 20, 2014 and officially opened on October 16, 2014 at the Lyric Theatre. PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Board of Trustees has unanimously elected Devin McGranahan as Chair of the Board, succeeding Richard P. Simmons.  McGranahan's appointment will become effective September 21, 2015, at the Pittsburgh Symphony's Annual Meeting.  The Board also honored Simmons, naming him Board Chair Emeritus.

On the heels of being named the first female African-American principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland joined the cast of Broadway's ON THE TOWN on Tuesday, Augst 25th in the role of 'Ivy'. Copeland will be performing through September 6. CDI/Concert Dance, Inc. returns as part of the 2015 Ruth Page Festival of Dance at Ravinia this week, Sept. 1 & 2 at 7:30 p.m., in Bennett Gordon Hall, 200 Ravinia Park Rd., Highland Park.

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and Music Director James R. Cassidy close the Symphony's 20th anniversary Summer Series in Devou Park, Saturday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m. with a free program dubbed "The Battle of Broadway: Sondheim vs. Webber." Composers Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber (who coincidently have the same birthday - March 22) ruled the boards on Broadway and the West End for most of the 1970s-80s compiling hit song after hit song in a string of award winning musicals. Home-grown bonafide Broadway stars Pamela Myers and Jessica Hendy will be featured, singing the hit tunes of these living legends.
