Film Independent Co-Presidents Sean Mc Manus and Josh Welsh jointly announced today the 28th FILM INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS will once again hold its traditional Saturday afternoon awards show in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica on February 23. TVLine reports that the HBO network has set a premiere date for the second season of its hit series GIRLS. The dramedy wil return on Sunday, January 13, at 9/8c on HBO. Broadway vet Patrick Wilson is set to guest star as 'Joshua'.

The ten-episode season of GIRLS kicks off SUNDAY, JAN. 13 at (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT). Created by and starring Lena Dunham, the series takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s. Dunham, Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner executive produce the show with Bruce Eric Kaplan and Ilene S. Landress; Murray Miller co-executive produces. LiveWire Chicago Theatre kicks off its 2012-13 season with the Chicago premiere of THE MISTAKES MADELINE MADE, a savagely funny story of love and dirty people by Elizabeth Meriwether, creator and writer of the hit FOX sitcom New Girl and Heddatron, and directed by LiveWire Collective member Krista D'Agostino.
