In remounting playwright Joe Landry's live radio play version of the beloved classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, Portland Stage serves up a family friendly show filled with all the sweetness and nostalgia that make the holidays memorable. The production, directed and designed by Anita Stewart, tells the tale of George Bailey with warmth and humor, underscoring effectively the messages of kindness, gratitude, and integrity without ever becoming saccharine.

On Wednesday, March 22, 7pm, the 29th Street Playwrights Collective and Goddard Riverside will join theaters, playwrights, directors and actors throughout the US and Canada who have united during Women's History Month to present THE FUTURE IS FEMALE FESTIVAL, a national series of staged readings and productions of 10-minute plays written by women of all backgrounds on the subject 'The Future is Female' and what that means to them.

The FUTURE IS FEMALE FESTIVAL kicks off with a Flagship Event in New York City at the University Settlement's Speyer Hall, 184 Eldridge St. (corner of Rivington), today, March 3rd at 7:30pm.

In March, Chicago's FM Productions will join theaters, playwrights, directors and actors throughout the US and Canada uniting during Women's History Month to present THE FUTURE IS FEMALE FESTIVAL. The series of staged readings and productions of 10-minute plays written by women of all backgrounds focuses on what the subject "The Future is Female" means to them.

Yet, Zimmerman's 'Metamorphoses' is so much more than dream. It is theatre as ritual, as rite of passage deep as an archetype, humorous as a limerick, and as universal as our need to love. It is a full-scale baptism in the journey of the soul as it finds its way to love. Written and directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, Metamorphoses is based on David Slavitt's translation and marks the first time Zimmerman will direct the production since its Broadway run. This is also the first time Zimmerman will stage Metamorphoses in the round, and a custom set will be designed with the largest pool of water ever created for this production. Metamorphoses dives onto the Fichandler Stage tonight, February 8-March 17, 2013.

The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage.
