THE BOOK OF MORMON, the new Broadway musical nominated for 14 Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical, will launch its national tour in December 2012. The premiere stop, at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), has already sold out.

Today, Deadline.com revealed that the show has been greenlit by NBC, adding that the series now has a title: 'The New Normal.'

THE BOOK OF MORMON's original principal cast, Josh Gad, Andrew Rannells, Nikki M. There's been speculation since it opened on Broadway that the undeniable hit THE BOOK OF MORMON would be headed for a West End debut. The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye reports today that THE BOOK OF MORMON is indeed headed for London - and will move into the Prince of Wales Theatre in early 2013.

The National Tour comes to LA after its premiere in Denver, where it will play from August 14 through September 2, 2012 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

The Original Broadway Cast Recording for THE BOOK OF MORMON was nominated for the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The recording on Ghostlight Records made history earlier this year as the first Broadway cast recording to chart in Billboard's Top 10 since Hair in 1969 and was also cited by Billboard as the fastest selling digital cast recording release of all time. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 12, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast on the CBS Television Network.
