Berkeley Repertory Theatre is thrilled to announce encore performances of Anna Deavere Smith's electrifying new show.

Playing now through July 10th, Let Me Down Easy bears witness to battles with illness, shares hard truths about healthcare and, when death is inevitable, talks about who gets let down easy and who does not. It will make you think, laugh and cry and it might even change the way you look at your life.

Anna Deveare Smith, who received a MacArthur Genius Award for her unique 'blend of theatrical art, social commentary, journalism, and intimate reverie,' is bringing her latest one-woman show Let Me Down Easy to The Broad Stage. There will be Previews on July 20 and Opening Night is July 22.

In 1994, Anna Deavere Smith set the Bay Area ablaze with her solo show Fires in the Mirror, the first production in Berkeley Repertory Theatre's history to sell every ticket before it opened.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater is pleased to announce that it will launch the national tour of Second Stage Theatre's production Let Me Down Easy. This one-woman production, which is conceived, written and performed by Anna Deavere Smith (Nurse Jackie, Fires in the Mirror) and directed by Leonard Foglia (Broadway's Thurgood) and was named one of Entertainment Weekly's Top 10 of 2009, is 'a continually engaging and engrossing collection of testimonials' (The New York Times) that explores the fragility of the body and the resilience of the spirit. Let Me Down Easy closes February 13, 2011 in the Kreeger Theater.

Following six weeks of fierce competition among 20 of California's finest young musical theatre performers, LA's Next Great Stage Star 2011 celebrated Judy Mora's outstanding victory at the 5th annual competition's glittering Finale on Sunday, February 6, presented by Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's, the most critically acclaimed, award-winning supper club of its kind in greater Los Angeles. Runners up included San Francisco's Michael David (2nd place); Matthew McFarland (3rd place); Emily Goglia (4th place); and Reba Buhr (5th place). Broadway World's Dean Butler was there to capture the three and a half hour event ... off and on stage - which also included a Special Guest Star performance by musical theatre, television star and pop composer/singer Blake McIver Ewing.
