Second Stage Announces Upcoming Season

Following a critically acclaimed season which included the New York Premiere of Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry and the musical Next to Normal starring Alice Ripley and Brian d'Arcy James, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) has announced three of the four plays scheduled for its upcoming 30th Anniversary Season.

MAUDE MAGGART, the critically-acclaimed chanteuse - hailed as 'bewitching' by The New York Times, 'utterly enchanting' by the New York Post and 'stunning' by the Los Angeles Times - will return to THE OAK ROOM of THE ALGONQUIN HOTEL for a six week engagement from April 1 - May 10. Her new show, 'Speaking of Dreams,' will feature John Boswell (April 1 - 12) and Lanny Meyers (April 15 - May 10) on piano and Yair Evnine on cello and guitar. Gawn Grainger, Douglas Henshall, Susan Lynch and Joseph Mawle will be joined by LAByrinth Theatre Company member Ron Cephas Jones in the European premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Last Days of Judas Iscariot directed by Rupert Goold. The Almeida Theatre and Headlong co-production opens on March 28, 2008 with press night on April 3, and is running until May 10.

The Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan, Inc presents Umbrella by L. Pontius, Off Broadway at The Kirk Theatre (Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street). It is directed by LAByrinth Theatre Company's Padraic Lillis and stars Christa Kimlicko Jones and Judson Jones. Previews begin April 11 and opens Tuesday, April 15 at 8PM.
