High-tech production values crush the heart of this national touring revival despite great voices and generally strong performances

CHICAGO is BACK IN TOWN and its PURE ENTERTAINMENT! Now celebrating 13 glorious years of girls, glitz and glamour on the Great White Way, the record-breaking smash hit musical CHICAGO is now the sixth longest-running musical in Broadway history... and shows no sign of ever slowing down!

Direct from her debut engagement with the London production of CHICAGO, on Monday, February 8, 2010, the Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning musical will welcome Terra C. MacLeod for an eight-week return engagement as Velma Kelly through Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Multi-platinum recording artist Ashlee Simpson-Wentz will take her final bow on February 7 in the Broadway production of CHICAGO.

The Empire State Building glowed red this weekend, from February 5 - 7, 2010, in honor of Go Red for Women and National Wear Red Day, a day of action aimed at raising awareness of heart disease, the leading killer of New York City women. American Heart Association volunteers were joined by recording artist and new Broadway star, Michelle Williams, formerly of Destiny's Child who makes her Broadway debut in CHICAGO tonight, to light the famous building. Also on hand was New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley to provide a briefing on the state of cardiovascular disease in New York City and illuminate the building with a flip of the switch for National Wear Red Day.

The Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of Sondheim on Sondheim, stars Barbara Cook, Vanessa Williams, Tom Wopat, Leslie Kritzer, Norm Lewis, Euan Morton, Erin Mackey & Matthew Scott. Tickets are now on sale and the marquee is up! Music & lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim and the production is conceived & directed by James Lapine.

A new, ground-breaking production of "Dreamgirls," directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom, arrives at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre, opening March 2, 2010, and playing through April 4. Previews begin February 25. (Opening was previously announced for February 26.)

International singing sensation Marti Pellow will return to star as ‘Billy Flynn' in the UK National tour of the smash-hit musical 'CHICAGO' for six weeks only from Monday 18 January until Saturday 26 February 2010. Marti first played the role to great acclaim in the West End, subsequently repeating his performance in New York and on the UK national tour, playing to sell-out houses. Emma Barton, currently starring in the show on tour as ‘Roxie Hart', will continue to play the role opposite Marti Pellow.

Stage and screen star Obba Babatunde will return to the CHICAGO stage next week as Billy Flynn while Brent Barrett (who re-assumed the role last fall) is on vacation. His run will last from January 10 - January 17. Brent Barrett will return on January 18.

Dreamgirls, the smash hit musical about an up-and-coming 1960s singing girl group, debuts in Minnesota at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre, through Jan. 17, 2010.
