Virginia Stage Company (VSC) introduces new leadership as they prepare to announce their upcoming schedule of shows. With talk and plans of succession over the past year and under the guidance of the VSC Board of Trustees, the board and new management hope this upcoming season will be one of growth and progress. "The new leadership structure will be nimble and flexible. It will provide the framework for continued Artistic Excellence." Dr. Sarah Clarkson, President VSC Board of Trustees.

Virginia Stage Company Welcomes New Senior Staff

Virginia Stage Company (VSC) has announced the addition of a General Manger to its staff. This new position at VSC will be filled by Foster J. Billingsley, formerly the Executive Director of the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Billingsley brings over 20 years of experience in all aspects of professional theater and arts management, from Regional and Broadway Stage Manager to Company Manager to most recently his roles as Deputy Director and Executive Director at the Virginia Commission for the Arts, where he served for the past 14 years.

SCKBSTD Breaks Sales Record at Virginia Stage Company

SCKBSTD - A New Musical by Bruce Hornsby broke sales records at its recent world premiere production in Norfolk, VA at Virginia Stage Company. A joint production with Mike Rafael and David Riemer of Spiral Staircase, the three-week run's total gross sales of $236,363 at the Wells Theatre made it the highest selling season production in VSC history. The show's sales even topped the Company's 1989 world premiere of the Broadway-bound Secret Garden.
