Westport Country Playhouse will present a Sunday Symposium, 'A Conversation with A. R. Gurney,' following the Sunday, May 31, 3 p.m. matinee performance of Gurney's vital and insightful family drama, 'Children.'

The Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) has announced casting for its 2009 Main Stage Season running from July 1 to August 23 at the '62 Center for Theatre and Dance in Williamstown, MA. In making the announcement Artistic Director Nicholas Martin said, 'I am so thrilled to bring this decorated and talented group of artists to the Berkshires this summer for our 55th Anniversary Season.'

The New Group proudly presents Eugene O'Neill's epic drama Mourning Becomes Electra as the second production in its 2008-2009 season. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production is playing a limited Off-Broadway run January 27 - April 18th, 2009. The classic drama had an Official Opening Night on Thursday, February 19th and BroadwayWorld was there as the cast celebrated at the starry after party!

Roundabout Theatre Company presents a new Broadway production of Hedda Gabler, starring Mary-Louise Parker, Michael Cerveris, Paul Sparks and Peter Stormare. Hedda Gabler, by Henrik Ibsen with a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn, is directed by Ian Rickson at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). The cast also includes Lois Markle, Ana Reeder and Helen Carey. Hedda Gabler officially opened on Sunday, January 25th, 2009. This is a limited engagement through March 29th, 2009.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. brought SHREK THE MUSICAL to the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway @ 53rd St) last night Sunday, December 14, 2008. Preview performances began on Saturday, November 8, 2008. The big green musical celebrated in full Broadway style and BroadwayWorld's cameras were there to bring you the starry arrivals for Shrek's big night!

Alex, Brian Barry, Kurt Froman, Bahiyah Sayyed Gaines, Lisa Gajda, Anthony Holds, Nadine Isenegger, Mark Morettini, Kathryn Mowat Murphy, Abbey O'Brien, Hayley Podschun, Krista Saab and Eric Sciotto. The New Group's U.S. premiere of Kevin Elyot's Mouth to Mouth directed by Mark Brokaw, officially celebrated Opening Night, November 6th on Theatre Row. This production features New Group artists David Cale, Lisa Emery and Elizabeth Jasicki.

Arthur Miller's ALL MY SONS starring John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, Patrick Wilson & Katie Holmes opened on Broadway on Oct. 16th. BroadwayWorld's cameras were there to capture the opening night festivities.

Circle in the Square Theatre (Theodore Mann, Artistic Director and Paul Libin, Managing Director) has joined Culture Project as producer of the upcoming New York production of The Atheist, presented by Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director). The dark comedy, written by Ronan Noone, directed by Justin Waldman and starring Campbell Scott as 'Augustine Early,' began performances at Culture Project's temporary new home, Barrow Street Theatre, on Tuesday, October 7th. It had an official opening Sunday evening, October 12.

On Sunday October 5, 2008 Gypsy star and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti and her husband, stage and screen star Steven Pasquale caught a performance of [title of show]. Also visiting that night was actress Katie Finneran, a Tony Winner herself for 'Noises Off' as well as cast members from the new musical 'A Tale of Two Cities', after the performance the whole gang stopped by backstage to visit the cast and crew.
