Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) previously announced that they have acquired Digital and Television rights to SAMSARA, the highly acclaimed documentary from filmmakers Mark Magidson and Ron Fricke ("Baraka," "Chronos").

Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Castle Rock Entertainment and Playhouse Productions present the world premiere of MISERY at Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope PA) this fall. Written by two-time Academy Award-winner William Goldman (who wrote the screenplay for Misery as well as The Princess Bride, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid), based on the acclaimed novel by Stephen King and directed by Will Frears (Coach, Year Zero), MISERY will play a limited developmental engagement of 11 performances only, tonight, November 24th through December 8th.

According to Deadline.com, a live broadcast of The Sound of Music, produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Smash), will likely air during the Christmas season in 2013.

Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) announced today that they have acquired Digital and Television rights to SAMSARA, the highly acclaimed documentary from filmmakers Mark Magidson and Ron Fricke ("Baraka," "Chronos"). In addition to directing and photographing the film, Fricke wrote the screen treatment with Magidson, who also produced. SAMSARA which was the number one per screen average film in the USA when it opened on August 31, 2012, has now exceeded $2m box office on a theatrical release covering the entire country, becoming Oscilloscope's most successful release to date. The film will be available on VOD beginning January 8th, 2013.

Tony Award nominee Johanna Day (Proof, August: Osage County) will star as writer Paul Sheldon's number-one fan, 'Annie Wilkes' alongside Daniel Gerroll (Enchanted April, High Society) as 'Paul Sheldon' and James DeMarse (The Orphans' Home Cycle, Dividing the Estate) as 'Buster.'

A new smash hit in Philadelphia, the hysterical all-singing, all-dancing, all-cooking hit musical "Cooking With The Calamari Sisters," currently playing at the Society Hill Playhouse, has been extended through Sunday, Dec. 2.

Fresh off its acclaimed run at the Cleveland Play House, One Night with Janis Joplin will take D.C. audiences on a musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends. The production is led by Cleveland native Mary Bridget Davies, who performs with Joplin's original band Big Brother and the Holding Company, and also features Sabrina Elayne Carten as the Blues Singer who pays homage to the artists that influenced Joplin's incomparable blues-rock blend. Created, written and directed by Randy Johnson, the production is produced in partnership with Cleveland Play House in association with Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich of Premiere Media, with support from The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeff Jampol of JAM, Inc.
