The Metropolitan Opera's premiere production of John Adams' 'Nixon in China,' conducted by the composer and staged by internationally acclaimed director Peter Sellars, will air in primetime on THIRTEEN's 'Great Performances at the Met' Wednesday, June 1 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS

Met Principal Guest Conductor Fabio Luisi conducts his first house performances of Richard Strauss's tragicomic opera-within-an-opera, Ariadne auf Naxos. The three-performance run features the Met role debuts of Joyce DiDonato as the Composer and Robert Dean Smith as Bacchus, opposite the acclaimed interpretations of Violeta Urmana as Ariadne, Kathleen Kim as Zerbinetta, and Thomas Allen as the Music Master.
