The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Globe's revival of N. Richard Nash's classic romantic comedyThe Rainmaker. Directed by Maria Mileaf, The Rainmaker will run July 13 - August 11, 2013 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run July 13 - July 17. First Folio Theatre, at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83, will begin its 2013-2014 season with the poignant, romantic dramaTHE RAINMAKER, previewing July 31, opening Saturday, August 3 at 8:15 p.m. and running through September 1, 2013 on the outdoor stage. The production is directed by Jeff Award nominee and First Folio Theatre Co-Founder, Alison C. Vesely (First Folio's A Moon for the Misbegotten).

Hotel investment group Eden Roc LLLP, the owner of the historic Eden Roc Hotel, announced today that Destination Hotels & Resorts will assume management of the luxury property beginning July 11, 2013. The 21-floor, 631-room hotel, formerly known as the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel, has been rebranded as the Eden Roc Miami Beach.

Let me start off by saying that the performance of The Rainmaker on Saturday June 15 was almost cancelled due to the illness of the two actors playing File and the Sheriff. Ron Vignone and Daniel Robinson respectively stepped in with only a couple of hours rehearsal so that the show could go on. With script in hand, both covered their roles quite effectively based on the little amount of time they had for preparation. Bravo!

Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced 12 mainstage productions of the theater's 2013-2014 season.
