YOUTH THEATER, the Drama Desk and Coming Up Taller Award-winning organization, is hosting three FREE events in the upcoming weeks: an Open House on Saturday May 5th from 10a-1p for interested musical theater students to learn more about the summer camps offered; an Anti-Bullying Forum on May 6th at 11am in conjunction with their World Premiere musical Up To You; and the June 2nd Dance-A-Thon. Jackie Hoffman, currently appearing on Broadway as Grandma Addams in The Addams Family, and Elizabeth Hagstedt, who appeared as Mrs. Lovett, Pirelli and the Beggar Woman in the national tour of John Doyle's production of Sweeney Todd, are among the cast of The RAs, a new web drama about a group of juniors at a performing arts college who come of age in 1999.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), the professional producing arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, concludes its Nutmeg Summer Series with the musical revue Smokey Joe's Café, playing now through Sunday, July 4 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre. Evening performances start at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Plus, a Sunday matinee performance starting at 2 p.m. The Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre is located on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, and provides air-conditioned comfort and convenient free parking in Lot 9 and X Lot. Paid parking is available in the North Garage.
