In 1999-2000, The New Group presented the premiere of Marc Wolf's solo documentary play, Another American: Asking and Telling, which won an Obie award and went on to tour the country. Ten years later, The New Group revisits this influential piece of theater in the context of the ongoing debate about the U.S. policy on LGBT citizens in the military.

Last night, Monday, May 10, The New Group opened their latest production of The Kid. This marks the final production in The New Group's current 2009-2010 season, which featured Kenneth Lonergan's The Starry Messenger and most recently, the hit revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke. The Kid plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement through May 29 at The New Group @ Theatre Row. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the opening night after party arrivals.

The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits. Recent Gypsy Robe honoree, ROCK OF AGES' star Andre Ward passed the special Broadway garment on to Paul Castree backstage before the opening night performance and BroadwayWorld.com was there to cheer him on!

Marc Kudisch debuted the new Broadway 'Break-a-Leg' tradition with Stephanie J. Block, Allison Janney and Megan Hilty during the Gypsy Robe Ceremony and BroadwayWorld.com's cameras caught all the action!
