If you had the chance to apologize for something you did that ruined another person's life would you? What if that thing was part of what you were expected to do for your job? These questions and other dilemmas lie at the heart of InterAct Theatre Company's second show of its 25th Anniversary Season. Assassin by local playwright David Robson, a co-production with Act II Playhouse, takes an intimate look at hero worship, regret and forgiveness while examining America's fascination with sports violence. With recent media attention being paid to football related injuries, past and present, Assassin is particularly relevant.

Signal Ensemble Theatre opens the new year with the second production in their Tenth Anniversary 2012-2013 season, the world premiere of Successors, January 26 - March 2, 2013 at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 West Berenice Ave. Successors is written by Signal Ensemble member Jon Steinhagen and is directed by Signal Ensemble member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra. Performances will regularly run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances are on Thursday, Jan. 24 and Friday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m., followed by opening/press night on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. Regular ticket prices are $20 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $10 for previews. 2012 Academy Award winner Christopher Plummer recreates his Tony Award winning role in the film adaptation of BARRYMORE, directed & adapted by Érik Canuel, which will be theatrically released jointly by BY Experience and Image Entertainment beginning Thursday, November 15 in New York and Los Angeles. BARRYMORE is based on the play by William Luce.

BerryMeyer Productions presents its inaugural production, Noel Coward's famous comedy Blithe Spirit, directed by Adam Berry. Blithe Spirit opens tonight, October 11th, 2012 and runs through Sunday, October 28th at The Julie Harris Stage in Wellfleet, Mass.

Eclipse Theatre has announced the recipient of their Fourth Annual Corona Award: Steve Scott, Associate Producer of The Goodman Theatre. Eclipse's Corona Award honors an individual who has played an important role in supporting and nurturing the Chicago Theatre community as well as Eclipse Theatre.

Actors' Equity Association announced today that Emmy-Award winning director/producer and writer William Greaves is the recipient of the 2012 Paul Robeson Award. Created in 1971, the Award recognizes a person who best exemplifies the principles by which Mr. Robeson lived. The award will be presented to Mr. Greaves at the October 12 Eastern Regional Membership Meeting at the Union's headquarters in New York City.

Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its Fall 2012 season with the return of singer and television star Linda Purl, in her new show "Midnight Caravan: Travels through the Great New York Clubs." Recapturing the glamour of New York's swank hotspots like The Copacabana and The Blue Angel, Purl invokes the smoky, after-hours world of the 1940s and 50s. With musical direction by Tedd Firth, "Midnight Caravan" includes songs such as "Easy Living," "I Thought About You," and "My Romance," to name just a few.

Laguna Playhouse presents the second show of their 2012-2013 season, the Olivier and Tony Award-winning hilarious, action-packed comedy, THE 39 STEPS, adapted by Patrick Barlow (based on the Alfred Hitchcock film) and directed by Kevin Bigger. The cast of THE 39 STEPS will feature Dan Fenaughty, Larissa Klinger, Nicholas Wilder and Toby Shaw.

In Cape May Stage's upcoming production of William Luce's 'The Belle of Amherst,' opening October 17 and running through October 27 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse, director Austin Pendleton paints a poignant portrait of Emily Dickinson, showing sides of the reclusive poet never seen before on stage.
