Manhattan Theatre Club has announced the lineup for this spring's Ted Snowdon Reading Series, formerly titled the Ernst C. Stiefel Reading Series.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents the world premiere of Napoli, Brooklyn by Meghan Kennedy, directed by Edelstein.

Chay Yew's frank drama, Question 27, Question 28 will be presented by Artists at Play and the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the signing of Executive Order 9066. The lineup for South Coast Repertory's 20th Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF), April 21-23, includes works from playwrights Amy Freed, Lucas Hnath, Donald Margulies and Lauren Yee. Portland Center Stage at The Armory debuts its new Northwest Stories series with Jeanne Sakata's Hold These Truths, a play inspired by the life of civil rights hero Gordon Hirabayashi, a Seattle native who was posthumously awarded the 2012 Presidential Medal of Freedom. Hold These Truths opens in the Ellyn Bye Studio on October 7, with previews beginning October 1 and performances running through November 13. Hold These Truths will be directed by Jessica Kubzansky, who directed the world premiere at East West Players in Los Angeles. Actor Ryun Yu, who originated the role of Hirabayashi at East West Players, will once again play the role in Portland.

The University of Southern Maine Department of Theatre is announcing its 2016-2017 season, a collection of five productions ranging in style and content from the lyricism of Dylan Thomas' "Under Milk Wood" and the whimsy of Julia Cho's "The Language Archive" to the power of "Dance USM" and the wit of the Shakespeare-based opera, "The Merry Wives of Windsor." The season will conclude with a special theatre, music and visual art collaboration, "Molded By the Flow," that will hold opening nights in both Lewiston and Gorham.
